This injectable medication is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist prescribed as an adjunct to a healthy diet and exercise regimen for weight loss and management.Studies done have shown significant weight loss of 15%. Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide belongs to a group of medications originally developed to treat diabetes. These medications act on the GLP-1 receptor in the body, similar to Semaglutide. However, Tirzepatide also activates the GIP receptor, which makes it slightly different from Semaglutide. It is also a weekly injection given here in the office. Studies done with tirzepatide have shown weight loss starting at 21.4%. A healthy diet and exercise are always preferred over medications. However, when serious attempts have been made to lose weight without success, medications can be considered, and can be highly beneficial for long-term health. Please note that these weight loss medications always need to be combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.Side effects of tirzepatide are very similar to semaglutide.
All weight loss programs start with a visit costing $100 to $140 depending on medication chosen. The first visit includes labwork and the first injection. Then, semaglutide starts at $40 weekly and tirzepatide starts at $120 weekly.
